The Customer Open Banking Consent Journey
This article explains the step-by-step customer experience when completing an open banking consent request through Stryd.
Overview
Open banking allows customers to securely share their financial data with brokers via Stryd. This guide shows the full journey from the customer’s perspective, so you can confidently explain the process to them.
Steps
Start the Consent

Customer clicks the consent request link sent by the broker.

The customer then clicks Start Now.

Customer can review the data being requested and who will have visibility to the data.

Customers clicks Consent to continue.
Choose a Lender

Customer selects their lender from the list (e.g. Macquarie, NAB).

If the lender was pre-selected, it will appear automatically.

Click Consent again to move to the lender’s open banking portal.
Complete the Lender’s Process

Customer will be asked for the relevant account identifier, eg a Customer ID, a member number, Customer Access Number (e.g. Macquarie ID). The customer will NOT be asked to provide their password.

Customer will then provide the One Time PIN sent to the mobile phone linked to the customer ID.

Customer can view the accounts they are able to share, and select the home loan account(s) to be shared.

The lender portal will then confirm the details, so the customer can review the data being shared and the consent period.

Transactional details are not shared by Stryd.

Customer clicks Confirm and will then see an option to Return to Stryd
Return to Stryd

Customer is redirected back to Stryd.

The chosen lender will now display as ticked.

To add another lender, repeat the process.

Once finished, click Finish to complete the journey.

Customers should avoid clicking Revoke unless they intend to immediately remove access.

Outcome
-
Customer consent is recorded, and data from the selected accounts is shared securely.

The customer is redirected back to Stryd, where the process is finalised.
Troubleshooting / Tips

Customers may mistakenly click Revoke immediately after consenting. Advise them to click Finish to complete the process.

Each lender has a slightly different open banking screen, but the steps are broadly the same.

Quick Steps

Log in with a combination of a customer identifiier and One Time PIN sent to a mobiel phone by the lender (passwords details are not requeted).
